How to Up Your Vocab Game: Giant Edition

The words we choose to use will create vastly different characters in our stories. Can you tell how the different nouns, verbs and adjectives change the personality of our giant characters?

Describe a giant trying to hide.

  • Awkward and shy

    The lanky giant poked his head into the room and peeked around. It was empty. Relieved to have found a hiding spot, he crawled into the room and gingerly tucked his toes in. He sighed.

  • Friendly and playful

    The colossal creature peered enthusiastically into the room. It was empty. Eager to have found his hiding spot, he squeezed himself in and tucked in his round belly, crashing over the tables and chairs. He beamed triumphantly. They would not find him here!

  • Bold and scary

    The giant’s large, knobby fingers grabbed the door frame as he thrust his head into the room. It was empty. Sniggering to himself, he stomped in, knocking over the tables and chairs. Then, he crouched behind the door, ready to pounce at the next person who entered.
